Introducing Seekora
As I started on the idea of Seekora to solve some of the problems I had and realised others had as well, I started discussing the issues with authors, I wanted something that would solve the issues for authors as well. Amazon is reducing your opportunity to get your books in front of readers and not all authors are social media experts.
Our Beta is open. Sign up now to be the first to try out Seekora and help create a community that will assist you in promoting your books.
If you have any issues or problems, feel free to contact us.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why should I sign up?
Amazon has made it more and more difficult to promote within Amazon, from changing romance authors to erotica using reviews on Goodreads, to limiting the advertising possibilities. Our keyword search and calendar system aim to simplify book discovery and notify readers of new releases, boosting early-week readership for your books.
As an author, you have full control over your books with Seekora. Recently some books have been falsely added to Amazon under an author's name. The app will download your books with one click and your Author ASIN, so only your books are linked. You can direct readers to Seekora to verify that the only books listed under your name are truly yours.
Seekora won't include reviews due to concerns about abuse, similar to issues on Goodreads. We'll explore adding reviews when we can verify them from genuine readers, and we'll collaborate with authors on future ideas.
Q: Do I have to add books individually?
We have an Amazon book import feature for seamless initial setup, allowing you to import all your published books at once. If you use a different platform like Kobo, please inform us, and we'll explore adding support.
Afterwards, you can add individual books or series, regardless of their availability on Amazon. This keeps your readers informed.
There is some initial setup, as Amazon does not allow us to download your blurb, as it is copyrighted to you.
Once your books are added to your account, you can add your blurb (remember they do not have to be 'clean' like on Amazon).
Create series and add books to series, this will be automated in the future.
Check the labels added to your books and add/remove labels so they accurately reflect your book.
Q: What are the features?
These are the initial features we'll implement, with more to follow.
- Keyword search: Labels will auto-generate from blurbs on import and authors can add and edit these. Readers can search using these set keywords. In the future we will add valuable insights, including popular search terms, combinations, and standard statistics like follower count, favourited books, and click-through rates in search results.
- Calendar function: Books with a release date in the future will have an option for the reader to add to their calendar to get notified on release and any changes to the release date will automatically reflect in their calendar.
- Lists function: Readers can add books to lists they create and mark a book read or unread. Unread books are automatically added to their TBR list.
