At Seekora, we’re proud to be a queer-owned business, and we’re committed to creating an inclusive space where everyone feels seen and celebrated. This month, we’re diving into some of my favourite queer romance stories, showcasing a variety of genres from contemporary to paranormal. These stories highlight the beauty of love in all its forms, that love is love, no matter who it’s between. 🌈
Love in the real world
Of course all romance stories are fiction, but in a contemporary setting the real world is recognisable to most of us.
Starting off with Charlie Novak, an author I met at RARE Edinburgh and I seriously love The Court series. The first book is Drama Queen (on Amazon), when a drag queen accidently knocks a drink in a rugby players lap, things get interesting. With some great side characters you will meet in later books.
If you like your book with a bit of angst and sweetness, Ed Davies' Sunshine Island Brothers series is a small town MM romance. Book 1, Collide (on Amazon), is a hockey player with best friend's brother secret romance. Read to find out how they finally get their Happily Ever After.
Staying in the small town romance trope, The Relationship Mechanic (on Amazon) by Karmen Lee is a spicy FF romance where a city girl Jessica meets small town mechanic Vini. Find out if they can solve their differences.
If you prefer your romance to be a little bit more risqué, Melissa Tereze's Study You (on Amazon) is a forbidden romance, age-gap FF romance. This taboo romance between professor and student is seriously too hot to handle.
Escape the real world
If you prefer more fantasy or paranormal settings, something that is my preferred genre of romance, I have some amazing books to recommend.
An author I found via Seekora's app is Delaney Rain and I just love her book covers. Start with Knotted by the Wolf Prince (on Amazon) of her Furry Alien Mates series. This series is a MM anthropomorphic aliens with human mates set in an amazing world of aliens arriving on Earth.
If you are more into the paranormal sphere, how about a wolfshifter and half-vampire MM romance by Vin George. Fang'd (on Amazon)is the first book of the evergreen Council series and is about Charley and stubborn wolfshifter Luc who is determined to protect him.
What could go wrong if DNA is used to find your soul match? Find out in the amazing sci-fi SoulMatch (on Amazon) by Nicole Pyland. This FF high-angst dystopian romance is a great read and pretty thought-provoking.
Brey Willows' book Dark Haven (on Amazon) follows a human social media influencer Sage who goes out to interview Remy, the founder of a vampire safe haven, because vampires are not that bad.. right? This FF romance story is full of action and intrigue and when things go wrong, serious decisions need to be made.
Queer is trans and non-binary inclusive
At Seekora queer is trans and non-binary inclusive and we have labels that authors can add to their books so readers can search on those terms.
As we just started the new year, let's start with a double fake dating story. In Lunar New Love (on Amazon) by Ophelia Silk both Mingh and Cass need a fake date, being total opposites it is a recipe for disaster. However there is a reason there is a saying, opposites attract.
The next book is about a combination of single dad, second chance and small town tropes. Jay Northcote's Second Chance (on Amazon) is the story of Nate, formerly Nat, who is returning to his home town with his daughter and reconnects with a childhood friend Jack. This is an amazing heartfelt story of discovery and love.
On the paranormal side of things, I recommend The Full Moon Problem (on Amazon) by Kay Claire. When Felix is left a house in the countryside by his aunt, he finds she was assisting the locals with traditional medicine, especially this shy werewolf Declan. Can Felix help Declan control his wild side?
The next book is a standalone in a series, The Weirdwater Confluence is an amazing interconnected series by Dani Finn. In The World Within (on Amazon) tells the story of Lila who has everything, or has she? Single mom delivery driver Avisse sparks an interest and with everything going on, will she have her happy ever after?
Something not for the faint of heart, as it has elements of BDSM, please check the content warnings before reading. Alethea Faust's Initiation (on Amazon) is book one of the Sex Wizards series where sex is the power of performing magic. It follows the story of Dominai who is told he has magic and is sent to Crux, to study magic, and finds a world of intrigue and sex.. lots of sex.
Seekora recommendation
There are several labels in Seekora for authors to add to their books, from the different indicators of MM and FF to queer.
Having met author C.M. Daniels at RARE Edinburgh, I was excited to see she signed up with Seekora. Her debut novel called And Then He Kissed Me (on Amazon) is set in 1960s England. With same-sex relationships still illegal, we follow Tommy in his life, hiding his true self. Meeting Eric in the Mod scene on his shiny Lambretta, changes everything.
There are many more books I have read and that are on my TBR that I would love to recommend. I will come back on this blog with more. Anyways Love is Love and we will always be inclusive. 🏳️🌈
